Dr Spencer Ellis, MBBS, FRCP

Rheumatology, General (internal) medicine

 

Dr Ellis has been a consultant rheumatologist and general physician at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust since July 2001. He is responsible for inpatients with a wide variety of medical disorders as well as running regular rheumatology outpatient clinics and a specialist auto-immune Connective Tissue Disease clinic.

 

Dr Ellis has particular interests in rheumatic disorders which affect a variety of systems and organs in the human body, such as systemic lupus erythematosus and vascultis.  He also has an interest in the association of such conditions with other medical problems, including heart disease.

Dr Ellis performs a number of rheumatology related procedures including:

 

  • Intra-articular Injections

  • Soft Tissue Injections

  • Diagnostic Joint Aspiration

  • Carpel Tunnel Injection

  • Trigger Finger Injections

  • Injections for Osteoarthritis of the thumb

  • Injections for De Quervian’s Tenosynovitis

CLINIC OPENING TIMES

Dr Ellis runs a weekly clinic at Pinehill Hospital every Tuesday afternoon  and alternate Friday mornings.
