What is the insurance code for an injection?
The code is W9040 for all injections that Dr Ellis gives.
Do I need a GP referral to come and see Dr Ellis?
It is always helpful to have a referral from your GP as it provides Dr Ellis with additional information, however, you can make an appointment without a referral if necessary.
What is the waiting time to see Dr Ellis?
You can normally be seen within 1 to 2 weeks.

How does the invoicing work?
After your appointment, you will be sent an invoice from Dr Ellis for his fees. If you are insured, the invoice will be sent directly to your insurer unless you specify otherwise.
How do I make a payment?
If you are insured Hertfordshire Rheumatology Clinic will invoice your insurer directly.

What does Dr Ellis charge for directly?
Dr Ellis only invoices for the consultation fee plus any injections which he administers. Please note that Pinehill Hospital levy separate fees for the injection to cover material/drug costs.
Pinehill will also invoice for any additional investigations such as blood tests, x-rays or scans. These fees can be discussed with Pinehill Hospital directly.
